Facilities

Experiential Learning is a cornerstone of the Professional Selling concentration. The following facilities are regularly utilized for class exercises, sales competitions, role plays, and special events.

Sales Conference Room Lab* 

The Conference Room Lab (BAS N436) is outfitted with a conference table, whiteboard, lights, and large monitor configured for virtual meeting capabilities. The room is designed to provide students with an environment to utilize the conference system and practice participation in virtual meetings. Faculty instructs students on the best practices of conference room sales conversations, and students graduate ready to meet a variety of industry needs. Students may also reserve the lab for virtual job interviews.

Mel Adams State Farm Agent Professional Sales Lab

The two-room professional sales lab (BAS S123) is designed to simulate a professional business environment. Students can record themselves in action, then review the video to reflect on ways to improve. Faculty use this lab to coach and develop students toward greater success.

They head into the office in there. You want to take a peek? Uh, and they can then partner and role play through a sales call.

Our sales lab is the Mel Adams State Farm Agent Professional Sales Lab. And this is where our students come to practice sales communication skills, relationship building skills, and um, they’re able to videotape themselves as they role play with peers or with business professionals and then can critique their performance. We as faculty can watch and coach them better in the process.

Couple more. I think this sales lab uh, will add to the quality of the degree for our students who are pursuing it. It gives them really an, an opportunity to have kind of a real life experience and that’s something that’s we do really well at MTSU.

Well, this is a really great example of how the Jones College of Business allows students to learn by doing. It’s one thing to teach people about sales. It’s another thing to get them experience in actually doing it. I’m going to go to you. Go ahead and cut it. Do it. Let’s do it.

SunTrust Room

This multi-functional meeting space (BAS S326) includes a small kitchen, tables, and a balcony. The Center for Professional Selling uses this space for training sessions, Lunch-n-Learns, networking events, and the end-of-semester Professional Selling Concentration Stole Ceremony.

Miller Education Center (MEC)

Located just off the main MTSU campus on Bell Street, the MEC has two large classrooms, six conference rooms, six offices, and a greenroom. The Center for Professional Selling uses this space for competitions and trainings.
